Round 8: *1 sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around.
Round 9: *1 sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around.
Round 10: *1 sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc; rep from * around.
54 sc total.
Work even until hat measures 7" from center of crown.
Brim: At end of round, reverse and work 1 sc in each sc until brim measures 2.75". (Simply turn the hat around and place the next sc in the sc you just finished. Then, continue to work around the hat as you have been doing for 2.75". Reversing the direction of your work will create a fold for your brim.)
Tuck in loose strings, and enjoy your new hat!
