A design based on dichotomy. Jacquelyn Landry needed something that could bridge the gap between short sleeves and full on sweater to keep her hands and arms warm while working in her drafty office. The answer -- Fingerless mitts that could also function as sleeves that were simple and yet complex. What began as a necessity soon evolved into a handcrafted homage to a directorial genius. The black and white imagery so often seen as elements in Burton's films is echoed here in a simple mosaic stripe pattern that satisfies practicality while decreases and increases create a visual image that is distinctly skeletal. Whether you consider them gothic or mod, function or ornamental, they are as unique as the man himself. Skill level is Advanced Beginner.
