This little coat, inspired by The Princess & the Pea story, is romantic, brightly colored, and wonderfully girly without being overwrought. The stripes represent the mattresses the princess slept on. Little bobble peas (many more than the princess had to contend with) decorate the coat. Included are instructions for both a ruffled and plain-edged coat. Slightly felted, the coat is soft and warm enough to use in the Fall or Winter months. Difficulty level is intermediate.
Knit and felt a solid color Ella & The Legume Coat for sizes 2T (3T, 4T, 5T, 6, 8) with 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins of Shepherd's Wool by Stonehedge Fiber Mill (100% Merino Worsted Weight Wool, 250yds/skein). For a striped coat you will need one or two 250yd skeins of a ruffle color (one for sizes 2T, 3T and 4T, two for the larger sizes) and one 250yd skein each of 10 other colors.
