There are a good many patterns out there for Oven Mittens, but none that had the sort of pizzaz Noni was looking for in an oven mitt . . . so, they created some striped, embellished Oven Mittens to knit and felt. The adornments can certianly be left off if you have a less embellished aesthetic. These Oven Mitts are designed to fit your hand, whether you are a person with small hands or large hands. Begin with either the small, medium or large size and then take them out of the felting process frequently and try them on . . . when they fit they are done.

This pattern contains instructions for one-handed Oven Mittens in three sizes. One-handed means you can put these Oven Mittens on left or right hands so you never have to worry about grabbing the correct one. Noni includes instructions for Hot Handle Grabbers and the traditional felted Trivet to put those hot things on when you bring them to the table. The flower embellishments are worked separatley and attached after felting. All of the items in this pattern are made with Cascade 220, and if you desire to work in a solid color, each particular item will take one skein or less -- that is, one mitten will take one skein or less. Skill level is Intrepid Beginner to Intermediate.

Knit and felt the Oven Mittens with your favorite colors of Cascade 220, or create orange and red stripe mitts with 1 skein each of 8555 Christmas Red and 7826 California Poppy. You will need US 11 (8mm) 16" Circular Needles and Double Point Needles and Stitch Holders.

Knit and felt the 9" Hot Handle Grabbers as featured with 1 skein of Cascade 220 in 8910 Citron. You will need US 11 (8mm) Double Point Needles.

Knit and felt Tiny Camellia Flowers (for 2 mitts, make several 9-petal flowers) with 1 skein of Cascade 220 in 8910 Citron or the color(s) of your choice and 1 ball of Crystal Palace Fizz in 7304 Lime. You will need US 5 (3.75mm) Straight Needles.

Knit and felt Diamond Trivets as featured with 1 skein of Cascade 220 in each of 8555 Christmas Red and 7826 California Poppy. You will need US 11 (8mm) Straight and Double Point Needles and a Tapestry Needle.
