These felted Messenger Bags and Passport Pockets are based on the idea of hidden color. Each bag has a plain flap that hides a brightly colored design or stripe. And inside each bag is a vibrant passport pocket that can serve as a pocket for the larger bag or may be worn on its own. Both the Messenger Bags and the small Passport Pockets are knit in one piece. Straps are knitted separately then attached. The Messenger Bag measures 12" (30cm) high, 18" (45cm) long, and 2" (5cm) wide. The Passport Pocket measures 9" (22.5cm) high and 5" (12.5cm) wide. Knit and felt. Skill level is beginner to advanced.

All bag colorways call for a double strand of Cascade 220 Yarn, Worsted Weight Feltable Yarn. Hidden Orange is created with 2 skeins of Black 8555, 2 skeins of Tangerine 9444, 6 skeins of Jet 4002 and 1 skein of Orange Sherbet 7825. Hidden Yellow is created with 2 skeins of Jet 4002, 2 skeins of Goldenrod 7827, 6 skeins of Charcoal 8400 and 1 skein of Black 8555.

These bags require US 8 (5mm) Double Point Needles, US 11 (8mm), 24" Circular Needles and US 11 (8mm) Double Point Needles.

You will also need a Tapestry Needle, sewing needle, heavy weight thread, one 6" (15cm) large-toothed zipper, two 2-1/4" (5.5cm) rectangular rings, two 1/2" round eye snap clips, two 5/8" (1.5cm) d-rings.
