Spring weather brings with it the curved stalks and delicately cupped flowers of the Tulip in more color combinations than can easily be counted. This pattern allows you to bring Tulips into your repertoire of knitted and felted flowers. Included are instructions for two-color (intarsia) Tulips on their long, curved stems in two styles, those with rounded tips and those with pointy tips. Knitters wishing to make solid colored Tulips may certainly do so.
Knit and felt Species Tulips with Pointy Petals with 1 skein each of Cascade 220 in 8903 Prima Verra, 9478 Cotton Candy and 7802 Cerise or 1 skein each of 8903 Prima Verra, 7827 Goldenrod and 2426 Cherry. Knit and felt Tulips with Rounded Petals with 1 skein each of 8903 Prima Verra, 7827 Goldenrod and 2426 Cherry or 1 skein each of 8903 Prima Verra, 7827 Goldenrod and 9444 Tangerine Heather.
You will need US 5 (3.75mm) Double Point Needles, Split Ring Stitch Markers, a Tapestry Needle, a sewing needle, and polyester sewing or nylon beading thread in like color.
