Sweet and demure, this Stitch Diva capelet adds soft style to day or evening wear. Whether you desire the light touch of knit, or the body and texture of crochet, Stitch Diva provides instructions for creating this capelet. For knitters and crocheters alike, these instructions provide an easy method for a custom fit even if your gauge is a little off. A clever box pleat at the back of the capelet provides not only a foolproof fitting technique, but a touch of Jackie-O styling. Not only will this capelet fit like a glove, it will lend a classic refinement to any ensemble. This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters and crocheters. Finished size for S/M (L, XL) is bust/arm circumference of 47" (51", 56").
As pictured the knit version (left) is created with 4 (5, 6) skeins of Berroco Quest. Suggested needles are US 10 Double Pointed Needles (or smaller) and US 9 and 11 Needles. The crochet version (right) is created in Moda Dea Dream. Substitute yarn gauge is 16-18 sts = 4" (Worsted Weight Yarn). Suggested crochet hook is Size I. To crochet, you will also need 3 locking-type Stitch Markers.
For both versions, you will need four Size 1 Hook & Eyes, a Tapestry Needle, a sewing needle, and coordinating thread.
