The Lotus Smock is a super fast and easy project using crochet hairpin lace. This top-down, try-on-as-you-go design offers two different length options on one pattern: Work it up in a weekend for the camisole length version or give yourself a week to create the knee-grazing dress.
Create the Lotus Smock by joining hairpin lace strips of different lengths into a classic feather and fan pattern that hugs your curves. The best part about Lotus is the forgiving fit: not only is hairpin lace fabric stretchy, but the texture of the hairpin lace join pattern obscures any renegade bulges that you just might prefer to keep under wraps. Skill level is intermediate.
Create this incredible hairpin lace design for sizes XS/S (S/M, L/XL, XXL, XXXL), bust 34" (38", 42", 46", 50"), as a camisole or a dress. Create the Camisole with 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) skeins of Tilli Tomas Soi de la Mer (pictured in Parchment) or 375 (450, 520, 575, 630) yards of any drapey Worsted Weight Yarn. (Soie de la Mer is discontinued and no longer available. We suggest Tilli Tomas Plie Silk Yarn for this pattern.) Create the dress with 3 (4, 4, 4, 5) skeins of Tilli Tomas Soi de la Mer (pictured in Eternal Diva) or 690 (790, 900, 990, 1075) yards of any drapey Worsted Weight Yarn such as Tilli Tomas Plie Silk Yarn. You will need a Wide Hairpin Lace Loom and a Crochet Hook.
