Don't be afraid to cut and paste to your liking or use a bit for a particular project. Each segment is tied together with a simple knot. To tighten a knot, simply pull both ends. (This is particularly important with ribbon. Ribbon is slippery and can come apart after you knit it, so be sure to test your ribbon knots as you work.)
