Don't tell anyone that the lace front involves spray paint and you will insure that your friends won't believe you knit it yourself. The versatile and functional Barcelona Bag easily transitions from shopping to traveling to a night on the town. Finished size is approximately 16.5" wide x 16.5" tall (excluding the handles) x 6.5" deep. Designed by Marta McCall.

Knit and felt the Barcelona Bag with 1532 yards (1400 meters) of black Worsted Weight Feltable Wool. (Featured in Zitron Classic Loft (100% Wool; 109 yds/100m) Black #1220 by The Skacel Collection.) Suggested needles are US 15 (10mm) Needles. You will also need a Tapestry Needle, two 5" x 6.5" brown with silver wooden handles, two 9" black faux bamboo rod handles, a can of flat black spray paint to paint the wooden handles, a can of clear acrylic seal to seal the handles, a can of flat white spray paint to spray felt, 1 yard of polyester lace, 2 silver buckles, 2 yards of 2.25" wide black grosgrain ribbon, 1 package of long quilter's pins, a sewing needle, black thread, a skein of black embroidery floss, a disposable razor, a washing maching and delicates bag for felting, a lint roller, a 15.5" x 6" Masonite 1/8" board for the bottom of the bag for structure and stability, and optional 2 small tufts of poly fiberfill for stuffing under the black grosgrain ribbon that goes through the buckles.
