Have you ever considered gold-leafing felt? That's exactly what's done on the Pebble Beach Bag designed by Marta McCall. Polished river rocks add cool, casual sophistication, and the re-worked bamboo handle adds the finishing touch to this smart, designer bag. Finished size is 11.5" wide x 4" deep x 14.5" tall.
Knit the Pebble Beach Bag with 4 skeins of Cascade 220. Suggested needles are US 15 (10mm) 24" Circular Needles. You will also need a Tapestry Needle, Bamboo Handles, 3M Super 77 spray adhesive available at art and craft stores, composition-leaf (gold) (also know as "gold leaf"), 5.5" x 5.5" squares, available at art and craft stores, painter's tape, gold spray paint for handle, brown acrylic paint for antiquing handle, 1 sponge brush or 1/2" paint brush, 3 skeins of embroidery floss in metallic gold, 1 skein of embroidery floss matching yarn, assorted polished river rocks (resource listed on pattern), a hot glue gun, a 1/8" Masonite board cut to 3.5" x 10" (also commonly known as "peg-board," but without holes) available at hardware stores, 4 Stitch Markers, and a disposable razor (for shaving felt, if needed).
