Tips & Tricks: On Twisting Ribbon Yarn . . . |

A recent edition of
Berroco's Knit Bits addressed knitters' frustration with the way ribbon yarns such as
Suede and
Zen twist. Knitters wonder if they need to keep them flat while knitting. The answer: "No. Only if you want to make yourself crazy. It is the nature of all ribbon yarns to twist. It has to do with the construction of the yarn. There is no need to expend all that time and energy "untwisting" the yarn periodically; just knit as you always do and pay no mind to the twisting. Our Gallery We think it is helpful to see designs created by our fellow knitters and crocheters, outside of the professional photography featured in pattern books. We are working on expanding our gallery and adding photos to some of our patterns under "What other crafter's have done with this pattern." We have already posted a wonderful version of the
Stitch Diva Celebrity Shawl created in
Rowan's Cotton Tape. The shawl is gorgeous. Creating it in Cotton Tape as opposed to the featured yarn,
Noro Hana Silk, produced a wonderful result at a substantially reduced price.
