July 2005

Happy Fourth!

To celebrate our Nation's great holiday, we have patriotic patterns and patterns in patriotic colors including two free patterns for placements and coasters from Lion Brand.   We wish you a beautiful, sunny Fourth of July weekend.

In mid-June we attended the National Needle Arts Association Trade Show.  What an event it was!  It was the ultimate shopping experience for two shopaholic needle arts lovers.  Here are some of the great new products we have already added to the site.

"Jewelry for your knitting needles and you!"

We think the new Stitch Markers with Charm from Heidi Petach Designs will be creating quite a stir among needle artists.  Mark your place in style with adorable enameled or pewter markers, both with genuine gemstones.  Choose designs to match your interests, and then add stitch marker earrings to mark your place in crochet!

Woolybully

We have just added the new Boheme Bag recently featured in Vogue Knitting, and High Art Needlework Aprons. You need an apron! This is what happens: The phone rings, the bell rings, the timer goes off. Something's boiling, something's burning, the baby cries. The neighbor wants to know why your dog's in his yard. You want to know why your wool is in the coffee, on the floor, unraveling with the cat. This is why: You don't have an apron! Get your apron at Dream Weaver Yarns!

Zecca Scissor Fobs and Snip Tipz

Zecca's artfully designed Scissor Fobs and Snip Tipz point protectors dress up your scissors and keep them from getting lost among your notions.  The fobs and fobs with point protectors are designed to clip on to 4" embroidery-style scissors such as our Gingher Fleur-De-Lis Embroidery Scissors.  Compliment your Zecca Stitch Markerz with these incredible fobs!

More Beautiful Offhand Designs

We have added the Crochet/Double Needle Clutch from Offhand Designs and it is selling out fast!  We have also added great new summer patterns in every Offhand knitting bag and clutch we feature.  In the Fall, look for speckled solids in rich Fall hues and the new Offhand Designs Weekender (an even larger version of the Zelda Tote!).

The best swift we've found . . .

The Nifty Swift from Aurora Yarns requires no clamping!  Simply set it on a table, set your yarn in place, and begin winding.  To wind quickly, use the swift along with a standard ball winder.

Berroco Fall is here!

In stock now are all four of Berroco's new pattern books and a wonderful array of the yarns featured.  Cozy comfort is the trend.  Designers highlight large fluffy sweaters in incredibly soft fibers, perfect for cool Fall days.  New Fall yarns include Foliage, Air, and Suede Tri Color.

New Books

The yarn-entangled life of the knitter is the subject of inspired meditations in At Knits End, Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee a great little gift book for you or your favorite knitter.  The handy Stitch 'N Bitch Journal by Debbie Stoller is a wonderful complement to the very popular Stitch 'N Bitch series.  In Barbie and Me Nicky Epstein offers designs for Barbie and (finally!) matching designs for you or your little girl.  The book includes designs for Ken too!

New Magazines

It's only July, but you can check out what's hot for Fall in these two early editions! Fall patterns at their finest can be found in Interweave Knits Fall 2005 and Family Circle Easy Knitting Fall 2005.
