Worked from side to side and shaped with simple short row wedges, Emily features a neat integrated I-cord edging around the neck and a deep lace and cable pattern around the gently flared bottom edge. Whether at the ball or the supermarket, it will keep your shoulders warm and add a little fairytale romance to your outfit. Full written and charted directions are provided.
Knit Emily with heavy Fingering Weight Yarn to light Worsted Weight Yarn. The simplest way to size the capelet is to knit until you are happy with the fit, but in case your intended wearer isn't handy for constant try ons, the pattern includes a table of the number of repeats to work for bust sizes between 30" and 56". Length is 13" but can easily be altered by changing the number of stitches cast on and working according to the pattern. Up to 8 stitches can be removed to make the capelet shorter before there will be problems with the shapping. Each repeat requires approximately 33 yards of yarn. Knit 13 repeats to fit a 30" bust and 26 repeats fit a 56" bust. More detail is provided on the chart included. Suggested needles are US 7 (4.5mm) Needles. You will need 3 small Buttons.
