The Brookfield Bag. Multiple design options allow you to create your own unique and spacious felted handbag.
Knit and felt The Brookfield Bag with 800 yards of Shepherd's Wool (knit doubled). To create the two-tone Tweed Brookfield use 480 yards of a darker main color and 320 yards of a lighter contrast color. Approximate felted measurements are, for the bag, 9" tall x 12" long x 6" deep; pockets, 5.25" tall; flaps, 3" tall x 4" wide.
Suggested needles are US 13 (9mm) 24-29" Circular Needles. You will need Handles, 3 Buttons for flaps, 1-4 Magnetic Closures, four .5" Buttons to secure the side pleat in the interior, 8 Locking Stitch Markers, 2 food bag clips, matching embroidery floss to sew buttons and handles, etc., plastic canvas mesh or 1/8" PVC sheet or flexible kitchen cutting board to line interior base of bag. Optional: 1 yard of .25" suede or leather lacing (for gathered back pocket), 4 Purse Feet, Tandy Line 24 snap fastener knit #3631.
Felting supplies include a zippered mesh laundry bag or zippered pillow protector, laundry soap and a washing machine.
