This lovely design is the perfect project for anyone looking for an easy-to-crochet batwing shawl for any season or occasion. Curved top edge shaping fits beautifully around shoulders and is worked from the neck down, growing longer and wider with each row. The simple lace repeat on the upper portion is made with only single crochet and chain stitches, and can be made in your desired length before adding the border pattern. Skill level is Intermediate.
This design fits all sizes. It can be made to the size desired with any Yarn and appropriate Crochet Hook. The Full-Size Shawl shown was made with about 650 yds of DK Weight Yarn and a G-6 (4mm) Crochet Hook; the Small Shawl/Scarf shown was made with about 450 yds of Fingering Weight Sock Yarn and an F-5 (3.75mm) Crochet Hook.
