These bags are inspired by artist Andy Goldsworthy's use of leaves and flower petals to cover rocks. The "covered rocks" circles are worked as intarsia. Inside each bag hangs a detachable pocket that can also be worn on its own. Covered Rocks pockets have an intarsia flap. Both saddle bag and pocket are knit in one piece, straps knit separately and attached. Saddle Bag measures 14" (35.5cm) high, 14" (35.5cm) long, and 3" (7.5cm) wide. Pocket measures 9" (23cm) high and 5" (13cm) wide. Knit and felt. Skill level is beginner to advanced.
All bag colorways call for a double strand of Cascade 220 Yarn, Worsted Weight Feltable Yarn. As pictured, Colorway 1 was knitted with 7 skeins of Yakima Heather 9459, 2 skeins of Turtle 2452 and 1 skein of Granny Smith 8914. Colorway 2 was knitted with 7 skeins of Jet 4002, 2 skeins of Flame 2444 and 1 skein of Aspen Heather 8011.

Patterns may be used for personal use, but not copied and distributed to others. Purchasing patterns from indie designers is one of the most accessible ways for you to be a patron of the arts. Your purchase directly supports the work of the designer to bring you new and interesting designs in the future. You can help support the designers you love by giving their designs as gifts to family and friends and refusing to copy those patterns as ?favors? or ?gifts?. The knitting arts community cannot continue to feature the finest patterns if the artists and designers we feature cannot support their efforts to produce, test, and distribute the high quality patterns Dream Weaver Yarns chooses to feature.
